Biography

Assistant Commissioner Hacker joined the Jamaica Fire Brigade in 1995. Over the years he has served with Operations (Kingston and St. Andrew and St James Division), the Communication Department and the Fire Prevention Division (St. James and Kingston and St. Andrew).

He was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner Officer in charge of the Fire Prevention and Public Education Division over the period October 2013 – October 2014, promoted to the rank of, Senior Deputy Superintendent as Commandant of the Training Department, served with the Transport and Fleet Management Department, served with the Training Department for the training of Intakes eight(8) to eleven(11), he has also presented in numerous in-service training programs (officer development, fire inspector, instructor training and promotional exercise). He is currently a member of the High Angle Standard Development Committee of the Tourism Product Development Company Ltd., Assisted with the technical review of various ISO standards with the Bureau of Standards Jamaica, assisted with the member of National Youth Service Emergency Corps development program and is a member of the fire and arson investigation team also a member of the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs.

Assistant Commissioner Hacker currently holds a Bachelor of Education in Industrial Technology Electrical, Vocational Education and Training (B-ED TVET Industrial Technology), Postgraduate Diploma In Public Sector Senior Management Development Program, a Diploma in Fire Brigade Management Development Program, and Diploma in Industrial Technology Electrical, Numerous Professional Certifications and a pending Masters Degree in Occupational, Environmental, Health and Safety.

In his spare time he enjoys Swimming, playing football, volley ball and squash. His personal goal is to be fluent in a foreign language and complete his Masters in occupational, environmental, health and safety and Disaster Management.
