Deputy Commissioner, Jamaica Fire Brigade | Officer In Charge(OIC) Operations
Biography
He hails from the parish of Hanover and joined the Jamaica Fire Brigade – Intake 3 on September 01, 1996. He started his firefighting career at the Hanover Division- Lucea Fire Station. During his tenure he has served in various assignments and ranks across Divisions and parishes.
His acting assignments include: Assistant Commissioner in charge- Area IV which comprise the St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth Divisions; Deputy Superintendent in charge of the Trelawny Division, he was appointed to this rank in 2010. He also acted as Staff Officer to the Commissioner and Senior Deputy Superintendent in charge of St. Ann Division.
He was appointed Senior Deputy Superintendent in charge of Operations of the Kingston and St. Andrew (KSA) Division in May 2015 and in October 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Superintendent for Kingston and St. Andrew. On April 01, 2019 he was promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner– Officer in charge of Operations for the organization.
He has completed a plethora of courses in various disciplines within the Jamaica Fire Brigade. Some of his external courses include: the Junior Command and Staff course with the Jamaica Defence Force in 2009; the International Divisional Command course at the Fire Service College in Morton, Marsh, United Kingdom; the Strategic Command course at the Jamaica Constabulary Force in 2019.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, Open Campus; A Diploma in Business Management from the Institute of Management Science now the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean. He also completed courses at the Management Institute for National Development (MIND) that includes a certificate in Human Resource Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Senior Public Sector Management.
In 2015 he was the recipient of the Medal of Honour for Meritorious Service. He served as Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the Jamaica 4H Club Parish Advisory Council, Trelawny. He is currently the President of the National Association of Fire Officers.
He is married and the proud father of four (4) children; three beautiful princesses and a handsome prince.
