Biography

Assistant Commissioner Mclean lives by the philosophy “winners never quit and quitters never win”. He joined the Jamaica Fire Brigade in October of the year 1990. Assistant Commissioner Floyd G. C. McLean is a senior Manager of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, over the past three years, he has been assigned in various Areas and Divisions, and is presently assigned to the western region of the Island where he is the Officer In charge.

Wearing many hats Assistant Commissioner McLean has carried out Brigade Assignments such as Senior Manager Area Officer; Divisional Commander; Fleet Manager; Fire Safety Practitioner; Fire Investigator (Structural, Arson,Bush), Fire Suppression Operative and Policy Development team member, just to name a few.He currently holds a Commonwealth Executive Masters in Public Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, Maintenance Management, and Strategic Command Course, a Diploma in Management Studies and has completed various courses such as Structural Fire Investigation, Supervisory Management Course, Introduction to public speaking; Computer Applications; Fire Brigade Training School, Introduction to Global Information Systems, Prevention Techniques II, Management Development Programme, Fire (Arson) Investigation, Draughting and Building Technology, Caribbean Junior Command and Staff Course.

Assistant Commissioner Mclean enjoys Reading; Camping, Motor sports, Biking, Swimming, Singing, Debating, and Networking.
