The Jamaica Fire Brigade’s Welfare department provides support for the basic and special needs of its members both uniform and non-uniform. We are also involved in community service both in schools and general community activities.
As it regards staff the department provides counselling to each member when requested, observed or recommended, visiting the sick. The department strives to improve the Fire brigade members by giving practical support promoting healthy lifestyles through Workshops, retreats and seminars. These are organized using the resources available in order to cater to the well-being of staff, such as Mental Health sessions, Retreats for couples promoting good relationships outside of the work life, Motivational seminars. The psycho social needs of people are important therefore the department has seen it necessary for recreational activities are planned in order to maintain a balance environment for individuals to express themselves.
Issues are welcomed and addressed, staff receive support and advice in various areas, confidentiality is maintained in our operation, activities are constructed to positively impact staff and we seek to improve our members physically, spiritually, mentally and socially this is Welfare Department of the Jamaica Fire Brigade
