Emergency Medical Services

The EMS is the arm of the Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) that provides pre-hospital care from six (6) fire Stations:
• Ironshore, St. James, 1-876-953-3952
• Negril 1-876-957-4242 and Savanna-La-Mar, 1-876-955-2666 or 1 876-955-2540 in Westmoreland,
• Lucea, Hanover, 1-876-956-2220 or 2187
• Falmouth, Trelawny 1-876-954-3230
• Linstead, St. Catherine.1-876-985-2333

 

 

 

The Emergency Medical Care Services include:
Pre-Hospital Emergency care for:
• Community Care
• Primary Care Emergency Medical Services
• Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Hospital Emergency Medical Care
• Accident and Emergency Departments
• Operating Theaters
• Recovery Rooms
• Radiology Departments and Laboratory Services

  • Inter-Hospital Emergency Medical Care
  • Caribbean Poison Information Network (formerly Poison Control Center) Blood Supply and Safety.

The responsibility of the Emergency Medical Technician is to retrieve, care for and deliver victims to an appropriate medical facility, in the shortest possible time and under the best possible condition.

The Team Responds to:

• Road traffic accident emergency

• Life threatening trauma

• Cardiovascular emergencies

• Unconscious persons

• Acute respiratory distress

• Severe bleeding Obstetric

• Any other medical condition that is life threatening and requires emergency action that is within the scope of the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
